Artist • Casey Herd

Casey Herd is from Salt Lake City, Utah. He trained at the Ballet West Academy and Kirov Academy and attended summer courses at Pacific Northwest Ballet School in 1993 and 1994. Casey was a finalist in the 1996 Paris International Ballet Competition and in 1997, he joined American Ballet Theatre, and later in 1999, joined the Pacific Northwest Ballet as a member of the corps de ballet. He was promoted to Soloist in 2002 and to principal in 2006.

Mr. Herd has performed leading roles in countless productions, including George Balanchine's Agon, A Midsummer Night's Dream (Titania's Cavalier, Theseus), Nacho Duato's Jardí Tancat, Paul Gibson's The Piano Dance, The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet (Romeo), Twyla Tharp's Nine Sinatra Songs, Glen Tetley's Voluntaries and The Rite of Spring, and Christopher Wheeldon's Polyphonia.

He originated a leading role in Paulo Gibson's Sense of Doubt and a featured role in Nicolo Fonte's Almost Tango. He has also been featured in Nacho Duato's Rassemblement..
